Windy says hello and welcome to my CHARITY GOLF DAY BLOG . . . . . . . .
To cut a very very long story short, and for fear of boring you all to death. I'll cut right to the chase.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes on Christmas Eve 2013, and so decided to raise money and awareness for the charity.
And because I knew a lot of my followers were golfers, and as a keen golfer myself, it made perfect sense to organise - WINDYS BIG CHARITY GOLF DAY which will be held at Auchterarder Golf Club on Saturday the 13th September 2014
Auchterarder Golf Club - Auchterarder Golf Club
So with the help of a close friend - Jake Riddell and the support of my Golf Club and managing secretary - DD Smith, I began to set the wheels in motion.
My 3 nominated charities are -
Diabetes UK Scotland - Diabetes UK Scotland
Diabetes UK Scotland fundraising heroes - Diabetes UK Scotland - Fundraising Heroes Windy Wilson
The Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (which flies out of Perth) - The Scottish Charity Air Ambulance
And my local Beavers, Cubs and Scout group, the 54th Perthshire. Which will benefit about 150 kids.
I'm hoping to raise about £12,000 to £15,000 pounds all in, but I'll be really happy if I break the £10,000 pound mark. I'm already sitting about £6,000 pounds just now through external sponsorship and my JustGiving Page -
Windys Just Giving Page
You can also donate to my charity by TEXT MESSAGE - just simply send a TEXT starting it with - WIND67 (followed by a space, then a chosen amount) £1 £2 £3 £4 £5 or £10 to 70070
Even if you can only spare a few quid that would be much appreciated !!!
GOLF EVENT -
The event itself will be an INDIVIDUAL STABLEFORD and will be split into the 3 x sections. It's open to the first 144 golfers that sign up, with only limited numbers available.
So if you'd like to take part then please email me at - windywilson88@googlemail.com
There will also be an evening dinner which is limited to 50 spaces. Again numbers for this are now limited, so if you'd like evening dinner as well, email me at the same email address.
For all sponsorship / business opportunities please email me at - windywilson88@googlemail.com
