WICKERMAN FESTIVAL 2014

WICKERMAN FESTIVAL 2014 - WEATHER FORECAST

Windy says oh ya hoor sir, this is arguably one of the easiest forecasts I've ever had the pleasure of doing . . . . . . . .

Wickerman home page

Wickerman line up

Wickerman site map

Posted on the 24th July at 1.30pm -

Windy says not much change for today and tomorrow at Wickerman, however as first forecast below. I did mention the possibility of showers / rain coming in on Saturday. At the moment it looks like we might see a wee bit of rain, but mostly for the NORTH WEST of Scotland, however, there is always a chance of this creeping further south . . . . . Will know a lot more tomorrow / tomorrow evening so stay tuned.

By the time Saturday afternoon comes though, you might be fuking thankful of rain to cool you all down ha ha ha

But let's take a look at the latest rain radar image anyway. We can see an area of low pressure slowly sneaking towards the WESTERN side of Scotland late late Friday night and Saturday - exactly when it kicks in I'm not 100% sure, but I will keep you updated !!

And at the moment the very worst of the rain is in the red circled areas. Outwith this is most likely just to be drizzle or light showers . . . . . . . . .

That is all.

Team WINDY !!

Posted on the 22nd July 2014 at 2pm -

Windy says this is my FIRST DRAFT but if I'm honest I can't really see much changing between now and the weekend !!

Looks like it's gonae be an absolute fuking belter for the SOUTH WEST of Scotland this week, with highs of +24/26 degrees and very little wind.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday forecast to be - bright, sunny and very warm !!

And if yer camping then overnight lows of +14/16 degrees, so very very warm at night as well.

If there is anything to spoil it, I have a very low chance of light showers on SATURDAY but like I said by the time we get to Saturday it should be fine . . . . . . . .

So it looks like you guys have got the very best of the weather (at the moment anyway) so enjoy.

STAY TUNED FOR REGULAR UPDATES - BUT I REALLY CAN'T SEE MUCH CHANGE AS HIGH PRESSURE HAS ALMOST MOVED IN now, AND WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE FOR A GOOD WHILE, BRINGING A SPELL OF - FINE WARM SETTLED WEATHER . . . . . . . .

That is all.

Team WINDY !!

SATURDAY THE 19th WEATHER FORECAST

Posted on Saturday the 19th July at 9.30am -

Windy says how about this . . . . . . . . fuk it, I'm past caring now wondering what the weather will be like. But what's the worst that can happen - we all get wet eh ha ha ha !!

But if you are that bothered, then it looks like we'll get showers / rain coming in about 12 noon ish, and lasting through, on and off until about 3-4pm ish . . . . . . then it should clear to leave a pretty decent evening !!

Mon the TUBORG !!!

Windy says oh ya hoor sir, almost time for Rewind 2014, starting with the Welcome Party tonight.

Windy and his mate John Diesel will not be in attendance until tomorrow afternoon though, but mind stop and say hello, and feel free to get me a Tuborg . . . . . . Mon the TUBORG's !!

Right enough fuking aboot, let's get on with business -

Posted on Friday the 18th July at 12.30pm -

Friday evenings opening party looks to be pretty decent with a chance of some showers about 6-7-8pm ish but hopefully they'll no transpire eh, and if they do they'll no be that heavy !!

At the moment though, today will be a scattered clouded day with bright spells and highs of +18/20 degrees, so it's a really nice build up to tonight at least !!

And if yer Glamping this year, overnight lows tonight will only be +13/15 degrees so quite warm out. With overnight lows on Saturday night into Sunday about +15/16 degrees, so sweaty baws time ha ha ha.

Now onto Saturday and at the moment at least, because I'm no gonae lie to you - we still have the strong possibility of heavy thundery downpours making there way up from down south throughout Saturday sometime, most likely afternoon / early evening time.

The biggest head fuk for me at the moment though is the exact timing !!! They really are just to hard to call at the moment time wise, so I'll be taking another look at them first thing in the morning ok.

SO PLEASE KEEP CHECKING FOR UPDATES BECAUSE THIS WILL (HOPEFULLY) CHANGE OVERNIGHT

But this is how it's looking to pan out at the moment -

This image shows the 'energy' early Saturday morning and the extent of the thunderstorms, which will mostly be confined to Englandshire. (you might already have seen some cracking images taken last night of lightning strikes, if not you'll find them on my Facebook page)

And this image shows the 'energy' late Saturday afternoon / evening time. And again we can see it slowly creeping northwards up into gods country.

This next set of images are the rain radar FORECASTS for tomorrow, but like I said don't get to worried just now as things will / should most likely change overnight and into tomorrow -

Saturday morning about 7-8-9am ish and we can see the thunderstorms moving into the southern half of Englandshire

Saturday evening about 5-6-7pm ish and we can see the bulk of the rain has now moved north. I'm hoping though that'll this will have fallen on Englandshire on it's way up !!

So to cut a very long and boring story short. Yes at the moment it's still looking like a wet day at some point or another !!

BUT PLEASE KEEP CHECKING THIS BLOG FOR UPDATES, BECAUSE IT WILL (HOPEFULLY) CHANGE OVERNIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING

But if it doesnae, who gives a fuk anyway. As I'm sure we'll all have a brilliant time regardless !!

That is all.

Team Windy !!

PRECAUTIONARY WEATHER WARNING FOR SATURDAY THE 19th -

Posted on Thursday the 17th July at 11am -

Windy says this is my THIRD DRAFT, and like the other 2 before, it will most likely change prior to the weekend, so don't worry about it too much just now eh ha ha ha ha

No doubt you'll have been reading my general forecasts over the last week or so and heard me talking about the temperatures, the humidity and this Spanish Plume eh ??

So to cut a very very long boring story short, all this shit mixed together is creating energy which will get turned into heavy thundery downpours.

If we look at the images below we can see all this 'energy' building up away down over France. So just be fuking thankful you're not over there on holiday eh ha ha ha . . . . . . .

And because of this Spanish Plume, all this warm explosive air is getting sucked up from Iberia and pushed northwards into the UK and Scotland.

So onto Saturday itself, and like I said it's only a forecast, and not a guarantee so please keep an open mind, and remember these timings are only approximate.

But if all goes according to plan we should see these heavy thundery downpours come into Englandshire early Saturday morning about 6-7-8am ish, and then slowly make there way northwards throughout the day.

Depending on what happens on the way will determine what time we'll see them, and to what extent they'll be . . . . . . . POSSIBLE heavy thundery downpours with lightning and hail, but to be honest that's a bit extreme, and will most likely be further south. I'm hoping by the time it reaches gods country it'll have burnt itself out ha ha ha ha

STAY TUNED FOR REGULAR UPDATES TODAY AND TOMORROW !!

That is all.

Team WINDY !!

Posted on Wednesday the 16th July at 2.45pm -

Windy says this is my SECOND DRAFT, and as per my first draft which is below, is most likely to change again as we go through the week towards the weekend.

We can now begin to take a look at Friday night as well for the opening party, and early indications are that Friday during the day will be awe right, very warm and muggy, with a chance of some rain creeping northwards about hometime.

It'll be windy, with sunshine and showers throughout the evening, with daytime highs of +22/24 degrees, and overnight lows of +15 degrees. So if yer camping it'll be sweaty baws time ha ha ha.

Friday might also see some thundery downpours but I'm almost convinced most, if not all of these will be confined to Englandshire on Friday. See image below -

Saturday will see scattered cloud and sporadic showers, some thundery at times - but this is where I'm struggling just now, as we're still far too far away to call it. But if we take a look at the image below we can see the expected extent of the thunderstorms, although I think we'll see some up in Scotland.

Sunday will be very similar to Saturday - very warm and muggy, scattered cloud with a stiff breeze, but without the chance of the thunderstorms.

I'll be updating this later on tonight possibly, but definitely tomorrow, and Friday - so please keep checking for updates !!

That is all.

Team WINDY !!

Posted on Tuesday the 15th July at 3.15pm -

Windy says well well well . . . . . . let's have a look at my FIRST DRAFT for this weekends Rewind festival at Scone Palace. And the reason I've emphasised the FIRST DRAFT bitty is because I could write a lot of shite here really, and it won't matter because the forecast WILL change between now and Saturday ha ha ha.

Long range forecasts are pointless . . . . . . . .

However EARLY INDICATIONS are that Saturday will be very warm and muggy, with scattered cloud, bright spells and a chance of some thundery showers. It'll start very windy, but the wind does ease as we go through the day, to leave a very pleasant evening / night indeed.

Highs of +21/23 degrees . . . . . . . .

Sunday at the moment looks to be like a really really nice day with bright sunny spells, fluffy clouds and highs of +23/25 degrees . . . . . . . .

ALL OF THIS IS LIKELY TO CHANGE DEPENDING ON WHAT HAPPENS TO THE HEATWAVE THAT THE SOUTH OF ENGLAND HAS, AS IT'S BRINGING UP EXTREMELY UNSTABLE WARM HUMID AIR FROM IBERIA . . . . . . . .

But at the moment though, it's looking pretty decent for the weekend

STAY TUNED FOR REGULAR UPDATES !!!

Thanks.

Team WINDY !!

WINDYS BIG CHARITY GOLF DAY - SATURDAY 13th SEPTEMBER 2014

Windy says hello and welcome to my CHARITY GOLF DAY BLOG . . . . . . . .

To cut a very very long story short, and for fear of boring you all to death. I'll cut right to the chase.

I'm hoping to raise about £12,000 to £15,000 pounds all in, but I'll be really happy if I break the £10,000 pound mark. I'm already sitting about £6,000 pounds just now through external sponsorship and my JustGiving Page -

T IN THE PARK 2014 - WEATHER FORECASTS

T in the Park 2014 weather forecast -

T IN THE PARK 2014

Posted on Sunday 13th July at 6.45am -

Windy says the reason my forecasts so early today is because I'm playing golf at half past 7 !!

After yesterdays rain and overnight rain last night, T in the Park starts damp this morning, especially underfoot.

It'll be a wee bit murky and cloudy, but this quickly clears to leave a decent bright sunny day with scattered cloud and highs of +18/20 degrees !!

If anything, there might be some light light showers later on this afternoon, but if so they won't come to much.

So on the whole, a really nice day for T in the Parks last ever day at Balado !! It'll start murky, but clears to leave a decent day, and evening . . . . . . . . . . .

That is all.

Team WINDY !!

Posted on Saturday 12th July at 11am -

Probably my hardest update so far regarding T in the Park,  what with this LOW PRESSURE coming in, and the rain spreading slowly eastwards from the west . . . . . . . .

So let's get a look at the latest rain radar image just in for 12 noon, and already we can see a large band of rain coming in off the Atlantic which will slowly spread eastwards throughout the day.

The red circled bits are the most intense areas of rain at the moment, and the yellow line is the extent of the dampness . . . . . . .

This is how she's looking much later on this afternoon about 4-5-6pm ish with much of the rain band now closer to the eastern side of Scotland, with a more intense area to follow.

So on the whole SATURDAY is looking dull and murky with a few bright spells possible but for a few passing showers, it should stay dry most of the day, until about 5-6-7pm ish when the rain will begin to get a wee bit heavier, but it won't be pouring pouring just damp !!

But on the plus side it won't be cold and wet it'll be warm and wet, as we'll see highs of +18/20 degrees, so it'll be quite muggy if anything.

The wind should begin to pick up just after lunchtime and continue to gust away for the rest of the day before easing last thing a t night.

We also expect overnight rain to fall as well into Sunday morning, meaning Sunday will start damp but will clear up to leave a pretty decent last day ever at Balado !!

That is all.

Team WINDY !!

Posted on Friday 11th July at 12.50pm -

Awe right T in the Parkers, how you fuking doing . . . . . . todays the big day then eh !!

But first of all let me share with you this appeal by the INVISIBLES !!

Well The Invisibles a homeless charity appeal is willing to collect and clean them on your behalf, and make sure they go to someone who needs them - SO PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND THINK ABOUT RECYCLING YER MANKY OLD SLEEPING BAG !!

The INVISIBLES sleeping bag appeal

Mon the HOMELESS !!

T IN THE PARK WEEKEND WEATHER -

And so onto the weather for the WEEKEND then as there's no point covering old ground re today, because I've already forecast that today is gonae be a fuking belter !!

As forecast yesterday, I issued a precautionary weather warning for the NORTH WEST of Scotland only. I've subsequently updates that to include the WESTERN side of Scotland.

So if we have a look at the global winds first of all we can see what's happening - Low pressure (red) for the WESTERN side of Scotland.

High pressure (yellow) trying like fuk to bring in a spell of settled dry warm weather. And the stagnant Low pressure that's sitting over Europe at the moment.

Saturday looks like it'll start dry, and stay dry for the best part of the day. There will be rain coming in at some point, but what's unsure is what time and how much !!

And if we have a look at the pressure charts below we can see that advancing area of Low pressure pushing down into the NORTH WEST of Scotland, and further.

So like I said, for the best part of SATURDAY it should stay dry for most of the day . . . . . . . The uncertainty is how far east the rain will spread and what time will it reach T in the Park, if it does !!

At the moment it looks like they'll be light showers about 4-5pm ish, with it getting a bit heavier round about 6-7pm ish - TIMES TO BE CONFIRMED LATER ON

It'll be cooler tomorrow as well, because as we can see, this advancing area of Low pressure has pushed our nice warm High further south.

So not cold cold, but cooler than today (+22/24 degrees) at about +18 degrees.

We'll also see the winds pick up tomorrow as well, most like early / mid afternoon, and when we feel this, with a drop in temperature as well, it often means the showers aren't far away !!

And lastly onto everyone's favourite bit - The bastarding rain ha ha ha. If we have a look at the latest rain radar forecast for tomorrow. Most, if not all of the rain stays across on the WESTERN side of Scotland, however, there is a chance that'll slowly drift eastwards as we go through the afternoon and into the evening.

One things for sure though, or at least almost sure. There will be heavy overnight showers Saturday night into Sunday morning !!

THE RAIN RADAR WILL BE UPDATED LATER ON THIS EVENING AND EARLY TOMORROW MORNING. . . . . . . . .

Sunday now looks to be pretty decent with scattered cloud and bright spells with highs of +18 degrees. With just a chance of light drizzle in the afternoon.

Again though, I'll update SUNDAY'S weather tomorrow sometime.

That is all.

Team WINDY !!

Posted on Thursday 10th July at 12.45pm -

T IN THE PARK - 4th DRAFT

Windy says to be honest not much has changed from my first 3 drafts, except possibly that today and tomorrow have improved, but Sunday shows more signs of showers now. But don't panic just yet as this is a long way off. . . . . . . . . .

Thursday (today) absolutely glorious start to the day, bright, sunny and very warm. And this theme continues on for most of the day and evening with central Scotland - Kinross-shire seeing highs of +20/22 degrees, maybe even a sneaky wee +23 !!

Fancy Dress Friday is another absolutely belter of a day . . . . much the same as Wednesday and today, with predominantly blue skies (wee scattered fluffy clouds for some) and sunshine. Friday (tomorrow) will be arguably thee best day oh the weekend !!

Saturday sees a bright start for sure with some nice sunny spells. It'll also be warm, but very very humid and muggy as well which means (as I'm not going to lie) there's a chance of some thundery downpours, but only a chance so once again don't get to worried just now. If these come it'll be late on in the afternoon after it's warmed up most of the day. Confidence is so so - SO STAY TUNED FOR REGULAR UPDATES !!

OVERNIGHT Saturday into Sunday sees a chance of some rain, but by this time most of you will be asleep or lying wasted in the campsite, so you'll not be that bothered anyway ha ha ha . . . . #SweatMonster #SwedgerCentral

Sunday sees a day of possible sunshine and showers, with highs of +18/20 degrees

SO ON THE WHOLE - THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WILL BE ABSOLUTE BELTERS

SATURDAY SHOULD BE OK BUT I'LL MONITOR CLOSELY FOR ANY THUNDERY DOWNPOURS COMING IN

AND SUNDAY WILL BE COOLER WITH MORE CHANCE OF A FEW SHOWERS

In Windy we trust . . . . . . . . . . .

Posted on Wednesday 9th July at 3pm -

T IN THE PARK - 3rd DRAFT

Windy says following on from yesterday and this mornings updates . . . . . This is my THIRD DRAFT for T IN THE PARK !!!

Thursday (tomorrow) and it's not looking too shabby at all. Starts bright, sunny and warm, HOWEVER there is a slight chance it'll cloud over a wee bitty late afternoon . . . . . It should stay dry most if not all of the day, but if we do get a shower it'll be later on and not come to much. Highs of +18/20 degrees . . . . . . . .

Fancy Dress Friday, what can I say. Arguably thee best day of the weekend - bright, clear, warm, sunny with highs of +22/24 degrees. An absolute fuking belter !!!

But FEELING a lot warmer as in muggy / uncomfortable warm. So mind take plenty fluids if yer stuck in that Slam tent out yer nut ha ha ha.

Again though, it'll begin to cloud over a wee bitty as we go through the late afternoon and into the evening.

Saturday and Sunday (at the moment anyway) look to be pretty decent. Both days start ok but if we're gonae see some light showers then it could be Saturday / Sunday late afternoon . . . . . But things could change over the next few days. Both days will be warm though with highs of +18/20 degrees.

MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT TOMORROW WILL BE PRETTY DECENT, AND FRIDAY WILL BE A FUKING BELTER . . . . . . . .

In Windy we trust !!!

Posted on Wednesday 9th July first thing in the morning -

T IN THE PARK -

Windy says as first forecast yesterday -

Thursday will be scattered clouded, bright and warm with highs of +18/20 degrees, with a slight slight chance of showers in the afternoon.

Friday will be nicer and warmer than Thursday, again scattered clouded, with highs of +20/22 degrees . . . . But it could FEEL more like +24/26 degrees and be very very muggy and sweaty. This could possibly be the best day oh the festival !!

Saturday will be very similar to Friday. With a chance of late overnight showers into Sunday morning.

Sunday will be cooler with sunshine and showers, and highs of +18/20 degrees, with a good chance of showers.

THIS IS ONLY MY SECOND DRAFT AND WILL BE REVISED LATER ON TODAY AND TOMORROW . . . . . . .

Bye bye Balado, hello Strathallan !!

auchTerarder welcomes TITP 2015 !!

WEEK AHEAD - AZORES HIGH - T IN THE PARK -

Windy says I'm pulling ma bastarding hair out sitting here . . . . . . thank fuk I don't get paid for this shit or do it for a living eh ha ha ha.

If we have a sneaky wee look at the current global winds image from Earth Null School, we can see this Azores High and that pesky little low pressure that's sitting right over Germany . . . . . . with a clearly defined battleground - right down the middle of the UK !!!

WEDNESDAY - There's no doubt tomorrow is going to be a cracker - dry, warm and very windy.

The problem is what happens late late Wednesday night and into the early hours of Thursday !!!

We know this pesky little low pressure that's sitting over eastern Europe just now WILL bring rain to the UK, but we just don't know how much and where . . . . . which kinda fuking defeats the purpose of us weathermen eh ha ha ha

We also know that we have this mahoosive area of high pressure that's trying like a bear to push in over the UK as well, and where the 2 meet is where the thick black line is.

So it's time tae put ma baws on the block again and say - REMEMBERING THIS IS ONLY MY FIRST DRAFT -

T IN THE PARK -

Thursday will be scattered clouded, bright and warm with highs of +18/20 degrees, with a slight chance of showers.

Friday will be nicer and warmer than Thursday, again scattered clouded with highs of +20/22 degrees . . . . But could FEEL more like +24/26 degrees and be very very muggy and thundery. This could possibly be the best day oh the festival !!

Saturday will be very similar to Friday. With a chance of late overnight showers into Sunday morning.

Sunday will be cooler with sunshine and showers, highs of +18/20 degrees, with a good chance of showers.

THIS IS ONLY MY FIRST DRAFT AND WILL BE REVISED TOMORROW AND THURSDAY . . . . . . .

That is all.

Team WINDY !!
